...Our
generation was the last one to perceive the “magic” of
soviet children’s films; we have been brought up by
stories about guys confronting the evil, struggling by
their own strength against injustice and helping the
wretched… These were the last years of the “Empire”,
when still continuing “to thank the party for the lucky
childhood” we could already feel the waft of the
Independence in the elders’ talks. Perhaps just then we
began to realize gradually the Value of the Motherland…
…Hunger, war, darkness and cold – such were the first years of
independence (since 1991): liberation
war in Karabakh, blockade, economic crisis and
severe winters without electricity, gas and water. It
was a hard time reeked of the kerosene of smoking lamps,
raw smell of homemade bread from flour and water and
porridge made of the wormy soybean and the milk powder
received as aid; a hard period full of never-ending
illnesses, deaths and departures of relatives. Now all
this is remembered as a bad dream, but it was the
reality – another road fork… The country gradually
became deserted. People ran away in search of not a
better but just a normal life. A lot of our friends left
forever parting with the past and with us who stayed.
But having chosen devotion and staying at Home we gained
the Great Right to Struggle.
…And so it happened that we stayed in Armenia and forever cast
in our lot with the Homeland. It was our own choice and
only much later, after many years, we have understood
that then we had chosen not just the Home but also our
location of Struggle, our territory of responsibility…
After all, the world is like a Puzzle where each person
is responsible for a separate part but the mistake of
someone means distortion of the whole picture.
And, continuing inner self-search,
we
do not stop to bear
“our
part of the Struggle” against the Matrix usurped
the
world,
understanding that in such a time we are able and should
still to preserve the Tradition. We believe that there
is a Divine light in all of us,
and we are guided
by
the simple Truth that “Alleging
that you are Unable, you deprive yourself of the
Omnipotence”... |
